Dear Unity Friends,

Last month, I shared with you part of an inspirational email from Unity School of Christianity regarding the movie and book, The Secret.  The publishing hit has taken the world by storm and many people religiously and secularly are being introduced to The Law of Attraction.  In that email, I shared how important it is to align our thoughts with the mind of God (what traditional religion would call, seeking God's will).  Unity says that "the more we seek God's will as it unfolds through us, the more we attract that which truly fulfills and enriches us."  We also recognize that co-creation with God requires participation on our part.  We must act on the divine inspiration that comes through us from our prayer and meditation time.

One of the ways that positive action is exemplified in our lives is through the practice of giving and receiving.  One of the challenges that some people have with Rhonda Byrne's work in The Secret is that it focuses too much on the receiving part of the equation.  The act of giving from the heart moves us from a focus on material acquisition to the higher vibration of creation that provides lasting satisfaction and supports not only our life, but all life.

Unity writes, "So if you desire more money, begin by giving from what you have.  If you desire more love from others, love others first.  If you desire more fulfilling work, give your best to the job you have.  If you desire more health, give from the health you have.  Do this believing that God will provide what you long for, and you will receive more - much more than you ever imagined.  'For it is God's good pleasure to give you the kingdom'  (Luke 12:22-40)."

Join us at Unity in Community this Sunday as Rev. Jan Seward talks more on this dynamic topic, and we invite you to join in our summer Unexpected Income Program to put this idea of giving and receiving to the test.

Namaste`
Robin
