Ernest Holmes states, "Transcendence does not rectify, it transmutes." When things go badly, whether it be health issues, money issues, relationship issues or whatever, our immediate desire
is usually to fix it, as fast as possible, and get out of the pain the issue is causing. But that issue, whatever it may be, is our doorway to transcendence,
if we are willing to walk through it.
Too many times, we want to just get away from it -
just have it be gone. But it has come into our life for a reason; a teaching: an opening for us to get closer to the truth we dream of, that everything, even this
issue, is God and can be embraced and can be loved and can be transcended.
It is rare to look for transcendence when we're feeling on top of the world - when everything is going our way
and we feel in the flow. How many of us are disciplined enough to use prayer when we need it most, to have faith when the chips are down, to walk our talk when we just don't feel like it?  The beauty of Unity is in putting into practice the knowing that everything is God and
using that knowing when we need it most. Mr. Holmes states, "To forget the truth in our hour of need is to not understand the truth." Let us step up when we need to the
most and put our faith before us. When we do this, we not only serve ourselves, but are models for the rest of the world, proving Christ's words here and now.
Let us be the ones who in the face of an empty bank account declare our riches, in the face of disease declare our Divine health, and in the face of departed relationships
declare our Oneness with all. Let Unity be the guiding light through our actions in the face of adversity, seeing it for the God nature it is, and walking through the door of transcendence.
