Dear Unity Friends,
When Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, was 94 years old, he said, "I fairly sizzle with zeal and enthusiasm and spring forth with a mighty faith to do the things that ought to be done by me."
This week, we take a look at the Power of Zeal. Zeal is the power of intensity and enthusiasm. It fires us up and motivates us to do things we might not otherwise do. It pushes us to stretch to
try new things and take risks. Zeal needs help from the other Powers of Spirit, for left on its own, it can run rampant in our lives, consuming us and causing us to become obsessive and single-focused.
Zeal is like hot sauce: a little goes a long way. Powers that work hand-in-hand with zeal include wisdom, faith, and strength. When we add a little wisdom to our zeal, we can discern how much enthusiasm
and exuberance we need in a situation to bring about the highest good. Wisdom curbs our zeal. On the other hand, when zeal is added to our powers of faith and strength, they each becomes more intense
and powerful. When we engage our Power of Zeal, we eliminate all apathy, all indifference, all negativity, all fear and unresponsiveness. As we turn within and ask God to recharge our zeal battery, we are
revived with a burning passion to know Spirit in a deeper, more meaningful way. Our Zeal drives us to find our "kingdom within" so we may find our individual path to a Christ-centered
life of ease, grace, and joy. Namaste` Robin |
