One of my favorite songs is "I Release and I
Let Go," by Rickie Byers of the Agape International Center. Those of you who have heard or sung this rocking spiritual know the deep and powerful meaning of the words. I release and I let go.
I let the Spirit run my life.
And my heart is open wide,
Yes, I'm only here for God.
No more struggle, no more strife,
With my faith I see the light.
I am free in the Spirit.
Yes, I'm only here for God.
Recently, I purchased a small paperback book at a used book sale. My husband thought the title suited me, "Meditations for Women Who Do Too Much." Me, doing
too much? Imagine that! The daily meditations are helping me to use my inner power to liberate myself from my own expectations through choosing more wisely, cleansing negative, compulsive behaviors, and
forgiving others and myself.
Whether it is tasks on your to-do list or unhealthy behavior patterns or unhealthy relationships, do you have things in your life that you need to release and let go of? When we
activate the Power of Renunciation or Release, we are able to give up those things that are not serving our highest good. Every living thing has some cycle of elimination. Without release and elimination,
life becomes stagnant. You probably know people and organizations that are stuck and just can't move because they lack the Power of Release in their lives.
We have the power to choose release in our
lives. As we prepare for the beginning of our holiday season, let us affirm together, "I have the power to free myself. I release and I let go. I let God be God in my life. I open my
heart, releasing all that does not serve me and receiving all that blesses me. And so it is. Amen."
Namaste`
