Millions of viewers tuned in to watch Oprah's last show. On this show, Oprah talked about how
common it is for people to make bad choices. Her early shows were about people making bad choices and then blaming others. She said she began to
learn what not to do in life by watching others. "When you know, you do better," she said. She continues, "Nobody but you is responsible for your life. It doesn't
matter what your mama did or what you daddy didn't do. You are responsible for your life. What is your
life? What is every flower? Every rock? Every tree? It's all energy – and you are responsible for the energy that you create for yourself."
Oprah talked about her interview with Dr. Jill Belle Taylor, who wrote the book, My Stroke of Insight. Dr.
Taylor suffered a stroke that affected the left side of her brain. She couldn't communicate, even though the
right side of her brain was working. She was trapped inside her own mind. She could intuit, using the right
side of her brain, who was on her side, who really want to help her. In her thoughts, she communicated with
those attending to her needs. "I'm in here come find me." She could feel the energy that everyone brought
into her room. She gave Oprah a sign that Oprah uses in her corporations and in her home. It reads: Please take responsibility for the energy that you bring into this space.
We learn in Unity how to create our concept of God – There is one presence and one power active in this
Universe – God – and we call it Good – the Omnipotence. We learn who we are. We were created after the
image of God. The higher self of humankind is a piece of God – a chip off the old block. Our higher self is
divine, and it is this higher self that is the Divine Mind's perfect idea of man. We call it the inner Christ.
We learn who we are in relationship with God. We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts
held in mind. We believe in the co-creative power thoughts and words. "As a man thinketh within himself, so
is he." All progress in our lives has its beginning in thought. When our attention is directed to the spiritual
realm, our thoughts partake of that nature of the divine and are constructive, and they make for happy,
healthy conditions – not because we cure everything or eliminate all lack, but because we learn to live from a
place of Oneness with that which knows no disease, death, or poverty. In relationship with God, we grow in
our understanding of the world beyond form, and that understanding makes living in the world of form a better place, an easy journey, an experience worth living.
Thoughts find expression in words. Words are powerful. We use affirmative words to create our prayer
experience so we are affirming in prayer that which is the Truth of any situation or circumstance. It is through prayer that we make conscious connection with the Divine Mind of God.
What is left for us to do? The directive of our fifth Unity principle is then to take all of this that we have
learned and incorporate it into our lives. It is the "taking it to the street." It is living the "way of life."
Every person is responsible for his/her own evolution.
We take the message of UNITY, and we live it. "Please take responsibility for the energy that you bring into this space." Similar words are found in Eric
Butterworth's teachings. Oprah said it this way in that final show – "All life is energy, and we are transmitting it in everything we do."
Live what you know and be 100% responsible for your life.
Namaste`,
