Dear Unity Friends, How often have we been reminded that
"laughter is the best medicine"? Not only does laughing feel good, it is good for you. According to a study by cardiologists at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, it appears that laughter
is good at protecting your heart. When we laugh, we are physically energized and invigorated. The more we laugh, the more air we take in. Laughter helps us to break the cycle of wear and tear on our bodies
due to stress. It also helps to break up plaque and cholesterol deposits in the arteries. Every time we laugh, we are affirming life in each cell of our bodies, in our lungs, in our heart, in every muscle.
Mentally, laughter helps us to rise above worry and tension from day-to-day life. When we focus on laughter, we are in the moment. Laughter is contagious. Who can keep a straight face when someone else is laughing?
Laughter is meant to be shared. Tell an amusing story today and help someone have a healthier heart and a happier mind. Send me your funny stories, and I will share them with others.
