Living with Ease We begin this week's study of the Tao Te Ching by looking within. We begin to notice the difference between the outer world of manifestation and our inner
sanctuary. In Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Mind,
Dyer says, "We cannot know the creator if we're focused exclusively on what's been created. In the same way, we lose our own creativity when we're unaware of what's behind all acts of creation." Our process of Living with Ease is like planting a seed in the soil.
This seed is our inner self, and we wait patiently while it creates our flower. But waiting is such a challenge sometimes, isn't it? Verse
15 takes this thought deeper and invites us to live an unhurried life. Dyer writes, "Keep alert and subtly aware, yet at the same time
stay still within – not rushing or demanding, but totally in charge of your inner world. This passage of the Tao reminds me of these words of the Bible: 'Be still and know that I am God' (Psalm 46:10)."
In Unity we often talk about spending time on a regular basis to be still and enjoy quiet contemplation. It is an important part of our
spiritual practice. In the stillness, we find our inner peace and let go of hurried thoughts. Often our judgments awake us from the stillness. They chastise us for not doing what
our ego thinks is right or urgent. Yet in the stillness, we find oneness with God and all judgments fall away.
God is infinite, and we are a piece of that infinite creation. All our hurriedness and judgments cannot change the essence of that seed of creation that we are. Within that seed of life that is you is a creative, simple state of being. Trust that creation
takes place as the unfolding of Divine Flow in your life. God is providing all you need. Take your focus off of what you do not have. Rest in the stillness, like the seed waiting
in the ground.
This week, begin your practice of living with ease by noticing the inner and outer world.
Every day, deepen that action by taking a little longer each day to sit in silence, focusing on the inner seed of creation within you. Each day, increase the committed time in the
silence. Practice being the seed of creation, planted in the mind of God, and you will find ease is your reward. Living with ease, Rev. Robin Download a Printable Version of this Inspiration
