Dear Unity Friends, Yesterday began with a gift of God's
beauty in nature. The golden sun rose behind gray clouds to awaken the day. To the west, a soft, pastel rainbow spanned the traverse between heaven and earth, while a small herd of deer munched on their breakfast in a
farmer's harvested wheat field. In the evening as I drove home from a meeting, again facing west, the gray clouds had long since gone, leaving behind only jagged wisps of water vapor to catch the sun's
long fingers of light. Trees along Alum Creek revealed their autumn brilliance, and in the dusk the water caught the red cast of the setting sun. In the dimming light, water and trees and sky and even the lone
fisherman's boat shone varying shades of burnt orange until objects were indiscernible from shadows. A mature, female red-tail hawk sat perched on a wire high above the passing traffic, eyeing the
prospects of dinner. Over the same field, a flock of geese took to the air, calling to each other in an effort to find their formation. Finally, at home after all the day was done, all the meetings and phone calls
finished, the banking complete and letters written, I saw nature's last whisper of inspiration for the day. The waxing, harvest moon brightened in the now dark sky as if a switch had been turned on. A light layer of
thin clouds gave it a mysterious appearance, like a photo out of focus, yet it seemed to smile upon the approaching night in gentle fashion. In the distance, an owl hooted hello, preparing to begin its evening
adventures. Yes, our days can be hectic, tiring, and sometimes down-right discouraging. If we but notice, God's gift of nature's beauty is available to cheer us and inspire us. It is the awakening of life
in the morning and the nightly sigh goodnight that complete our days. What we do in between is just stuff to which we give measured importance. I hope you took some time today to enjoy autumn in Central
Ohio and to thank God for the gift of nature's beauty. Namaste` Robin
