Please take a moment to

Dear Unity Friends,

Today, I received an emailed prayer request from a woman in Florida who asked for prayers for her daughter who was feeling lost and depressed.  I felt that the daughter was a college student, though the woman did not specifically say that she was.  Many students across our country are feeling sad and depressed because of the recent event at Virginia Tech.

As we struggle to find some hope and promise in painful events, such as the shootings at VT, let us be gentle with ourselves for we all feel a wounding at such senseless loss of life.  Instead of turning to the unanswerable question of "Why?"  I turn to God with "Help me."  "Help me" to move from the position of feeling helpless to claiming God's powers in an otherwise powerless situation.  "Help me" to not get stuck in the confusion and victim thinking.  "Help me" to turn in prayer to the Source of all good, trusting that through the pain and sadness we can find hope, courage, and consolation.

We take steps in spiritual consciousness by holding each child we know tenderly in our heart space, affirming for each one ...
The light of God surrounds you.
The love of God enfolds you.
The power of God protects you.
The presence of God watches over you.
Wherever you are, God is.

Namaste`
Robin

Here is Silent Unity's response to the Virginia Tech shootings:

Dear Friend,

Here in Silent Unity, our love and prayers reach out to all of the students and faculty of Virginia Tech and their families. We invite you to join your hearts with ours in prayer as we enfold every person in thoughts of comfort, peace, and faith, trusting the love of God to uphold and sustain each one through this difficult time.

The love of God is the source of strength. We pray that those who lost a loved one will find strength and assurance in the knowledge that God's love is eternal and their loved one is eternally enfolded in God's care and keeping.

The very life of God is the source of healing and renewal. As we pray for those who need healing, we see each person as whole in mind, body, and spirit. God is a safe haven, and in this knowledge each person can find peace and strength to move ahead.

As you add your prayer consciousness to ours and to that of people everywhere who are supporting the students and families of Virginia Tech, we offer words of faith and comfort to support you in your prayer times. You can read the timeless words of James Dillet Freeman's I Am There.

We are all one in the family of God, and we bless you for joining your hearts with ours in prayer for our sacred family.  God is always with you, dear friend, and we are one with you in faith and love.

In peace,
Silent Unity
