Is it joy that stirs up thanksgiving within me, or is it my thanksgiving that stirs up my inner joy?
Have you ever, like me, felt such joy that you could hardly contain it? Perhaps when you've experienced a magnificent sunset or sunrise – or looked into the innocent wide eyes of a child – or
walked through a field of lush purple lavender - or felt the exhilaration of climbing a mountain, etcetera. It's the joy of thanksgiving within you and me needing to be expressed.
And how can we not feel a surge of thanksgiving when everywhere we look, in everything we experience, we recognize that God is present - as Creator and Omnipresent Spirit of Life. It's a joy to
give thanks to God, the Creator and Sustainer of all there is. We can never take anyone for granted, never feel more or less superior than any other member of the family of God.
So don't hold back the joy or thanksgiving that you feel. Like ALL days, this is our thanksgiving day, and as we give thanks to Creator God, we experience God's joy and even more, we celebrate a
thanksgiving of the soul.
"Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy;
let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity." - Psalm 98:7-9
