. Rev. Chris addresses the uncertainty in our lives. He begins with scripture: "Fear not, be not dismayed; for the
Lord God, even my God, is with you. God will not fail you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished." 1 Chronicles 28:20
We are uncertain.
We wonder what to do.
We wonder where to turn.
We wonder what is going on.
We wonder why this is happening.
We have forgotten who we already are.
Now more than ever, it is time to develop and to exercise our spiritual power. There is but one source of
power in the world and in the universe and that is God. We were created by God to be magnificent and
to do incredible things. We were created with an innate ability within us to overcome all adversity and to express the innermost virtue of unconditional love within us all.
We are uncertain because we have forgotten who we really are. Because we have forgotten, we look to
sources outside of ourselves in the world. We look to those who proclaim to have power. We look to those who have achieved power by causing us to look at them rather than at ourselves. We have
become unconscious, dependent, and afraid. Uncertainty is a paralyzing condition. It is created by our failure to exercise our faith to the extent that we know what to do at all times.
Uncertainty is a lack of trust in God, and without trust, we are unable to move. Failure to trust God leaves us searching desperately for a sign in the dark of night without a light to see with.
God is the guiding light that always directs us to the right place, at the right time. When we trust God
and know when God is directing, we follow, without uncertainty. We find that Truth serves our highest
good; it never fails us. We cease to be uncertain and instead we become conscious, independent and brave. We are never alone on this path.
Once you step onto this path, you will find that you are following the common path we were all
destined to travel upon together as spiritual beings. This path leads to our spiritual power to equip us to live in uncertain times.
We wonder where to turn, because we have forgotten that the place to go in all times of doubt, wonder,
and need is prayer with God. We look for safety where there is none. We look for a place to go where
we may escape the dangers and the sorrows the world. Yet, in prayer, it is as it has always been: peaceful, calm, safe.
We are desperate to run away, but there is not an "away" to run to. No matter where we go, until we
turn to God in prayer, we will find the very things that we want escape our needy grasp.
The safest place we can be, at all times, is right where we are with a true awareness of God.
Turning within in prayer, we see only God's truth. We are safe and protected. At the same time we know that we are also connected to the eternal and powerful.
We may wonder what is going on because we have become deaf to the silence of prayer. We long to
hear with our ears what our condition is, whether we are winning the war of uncertain times. We want
to know how to prepare and what to expect. We concern ourselves with what to wear, what to eat,
where to live. We are in a constant state of survival. We cannot hear the steady beat of our own hearts, comforting us, telling us the only truth we need to know.
Our every need is already taken care of by God. There is no need to wonder what is going on. The only
thing we need to know is that as long as our hearts beat, the life force is with us. The life force that
sustains us is the unconditional love of God which we are a part. When we connect with God in both our heart and mind, we will no longer wonder what is going on.
We will know that what is going on is what has been going on for eternity. For eons, the life force has
found its way into, around and through every atom of everything that exists. The Giver of Life goes on
and on, eternally. If our hearts are beating now, we are receivers of God life, and we have the capacity
to do more than simply survive. We have the capacity to exist beyond those things which we believe sustain us.
When hard times strike, we wonder why this is happening.
We have forgotten who we already are. We often do not know how to relate to our own spirituality. We
do not believe what Jesus said that we can transform ourselves from physical beingness to spiritual
beingness. We think there are special tricks, special tools, special teachers, special information that
we must learn, engage in or buy in order to become who we already are. We are still waiting for prayers to be answered, yet they were answered by God before we even prayed them. We are still
looking for the way, yet it is clearly marked for us to follow.
There is no special trick to being spiritual. It is what we are, always have been and always will be.
Spirituality does not come in different packages labeled by the signs outside the different church doors.
These wonderful places house common positive people on a quest. There is nothing to buy, no package that we must learn how to open. God has given each of us the exact same equal share of the
potential of spirituality. We all contain the one spark of life that created us and made us with potential.
We have been handed blinders by the world of division and diversity to cause us to not be able to focus on that fact.
Yet, some have dared to turn their heads and look another way towards God's help. They have discovered that God is the same all the time in every time of life.
God Bless You! Have a GREAT day.
