Unity World Day of Prayer, What's It All About Dear Unity Friends, Each year, Unity churches and centers join with Silent Unity for
a day committed to prayer. Each Unity center chooses how to create a beautiful prayer experience for its congregation and the public.
This year, Unity Spiritual Center will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. People are invited to come and sit in our sacred
space and pray. We encourage people to come for at least two hours. Many folks say, "What am I going to do for two hours?"
"I don't know how to pray that long." You will be amazed at how easy and inviting it is to participate in this beautiful day.
From the moment you walk into the sanctuary, which will be beautifully decorated with prayer stations to encourage your prayer process, you will feel at one with the presence of God. Directions Here are some thoughts from past participants of World Day of
Prayer. May this be your invitation to come and be with us on this holy day. If you are not in Central Ohio, please set aside a
block of time to be in prayer on September 8th as we affirm, "Together We Shine."
- "In this moment, there is nowhere else I'd rather be than right here. There is no other job more important than being present to this prayer energy. What a privilege!
What an honor! Use me, dear God! I am so blessed."
- "How wonderful to be so intentional with meditation and prayer! How wonderful to be here in this body, yet at the same time to be able to access the divinity and unity that
I really am. As I sit, I open myself in new ways. I think of the many ways I can be of service in this world. I reflect on the many blessings that have come into my life
through Unity. "
- "Spirit fills me with love and light. I remember. I believe. I
know. I honor the light of God that is me. I come home to my essence, and it carries me from this
moment forward. No longer do I walk alone in darkness. I am filled with the Christ Light of wisdom."
- "I pray for those I love. I pray for those who have wronged me. I pray for rain on drought-stricken
lands. I pray for happiness to come to the despondent. I pray for strength for aging parents and for
guidance for impressionable youth. I pray for healing for those in pain. I pray for prosperity for those
in fear and lack. I pray for democracy for those under the rule of the unkind. I pray for comfort for those suffering from anxiety.
- I pray in gratitude for all that I have, and especially for the knowing that I can give of myself to make
this world a better place to be. I pray for encouragement to share my gifts with others. I pray in
gratitude for this holy, peaceful place that embraces and supports my spiritual unfoldment. I am grateful. Thank you, God."
- "Beginning anew – today is a new day and a new beginning of peace-filled Unity for all the world…on
the World Day of Prayer, after meditating at the angel station, I feel a new energy and positive
healing of all people on our planet Earth. I forgive those who have unjustly used me and have trodden
on my freedom and rights. I see them awakened and open now to the light of Truth. When we can feel that we are all one, we better appreciate all that God has given us."
