Special Holiday Service Projects: Miracle on William Street and Christmas Caroling (Dec. 1st)
Unity Church of Delaware has several special projects planned for the holidays. This year we will participate in a free-shopping holiday event on December 1st sponsored by Common Ground Free Store called Miracle on William Street. The event is held at William Street Methodist Church, 28 W. William St., Delaware.
TOY DRIVE: We will be collecting toys and gifts to donate to the Free Store to stock the shelves for the December 1st event. To participate, pick a tag from the Giving Tree, purchase a gift in line with the suggestions on the tag, and bring it into the church with the tag attached. Since volunteers will wrap the gifts on the day of the event, there is no need to wrap the gifts yourself. Deadline for all donated gifts/toys is Sunday, November 25th. NOTE: They also welcome donations of gift bags to help with wrapping odd-sized items.
CHRISTMAS CAROLING: We will be Christmas Caroling at the December 1st event from 12:00-1:00 PM. All are welcome to join our group of carolers. Songbooks will be provided and guitar accompaniment will be available. Join us! We will meet at the William Street Methodist Church, 28 W. William St., Delaware, at 12:00 noon on December 1st.
There will be live music, crafts provided by local scout troops, pictures with Santa, refreshments, cupcake decorating, and games. If you or someone you know would like to shop at this special free-shopping holiday event, call Common Ground Free Store to sign up any time in November. Both adult and child shoppers will have personal shopping assistants to guide them through the store and help them select gifts. For more information about free shopping, call 740-369-3733. Join Unity Ukes on Saturday,
The ukulele has been called the world's happiest instrument. It is a member of the lute family and the name literally translates as "jumping flea" from Hawaiian, likely due to the rapid movements of the players' fingers. It is an accessible instrument that most anyone can learn to play. The group meets in the fellowship area at 6:30 PM the second Saturday of the month. Hosted by In Spirit at Unity of Delaware, newcomers are welcome and extra ukuleles will be on hand to try out. Click here to hear the ukulele version of "Over the Rainbow." Join us and create happiness in the world!
Women's Brunch Wednesday,
